Policy Statement
If an incident happens, there may not be time to plan a response. However, KingsGate School will respond in accordance with the MOE if we are required to respond to an incident of suicide. The Health and Safety at Work Act and the Children's Act are acknowledged in the event of a suicide of a member of the school community. 

Definition
Suicide is defined as an intentional decision to end one’s life.

Purpose
To support school management and the wider school community in the event of a suicide of a member of the school community.
