Concerns or Complaints Regarding Your Child
At KingsGate School, we believe that strong relationships are built on mutual respect, open communication, and a shared commitment to the wellbeing of every child. From time to time, concerns may arise regarding your child’s learning, wellbeing, relationships, or an incident that has occurred at school. In most situations, we seek to resolve these matters through respectful dialogue, grace, understanding, and the application of the Fruit of the Spirit. We also utilise our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) practices and restorative approaches to help students, families, and staff work through concerns in a constructive and relationship-focused manner. We recognise that misunderstandings, disagreements, personality differences, and conflicts can occur, and we are committed to working together with families to achieve positive outcomes wherever possible.
There may, however, be occasions when you believe that a matter has not been handled appropriately, that correct procedures have not been followed, or that you remain dissatisfied with the outcome reached. In these situations, it is essential that parents follow the school's Concerns and Complaints Procedure. This process has been carefully designed to ensure concerns are addressed fairly, consistently, and at the appropriate level. Both the Ministry of Education and the School Board expect concerns to be raised and resolved at the lowest possible level before being escalated further. Matters that bypass the required steps will typically be referred back to the appropriate stage of the process for resolution. For this reason, we strongly encourage all parents and caregivers to read and follow the Concerns and Complaints Procedure carefully, as it provides the clearest pathway to achieving a timely, fair, and constructive resolution
