School Board

The KingsGate School Board plays a vital role in providing governance, oversight, and strategic direction for the school. As a State-Integrated Christian School, the Board is responsible for ensuring that KingsGate School remains faithful to its vision, mission, and values while providing a high-quality education for all students. The Board works closely with the Principal to set the school's long-term direction, oversee its resources, and make decisions that support the well-being and success of students, staff, and the wider school community.

The Board comprises a range of representatives who bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the governance table. These include elected parent representatives, a staff representative, a student representative, the Principal, and Proprietor representatives appointed by the New Zealand Christian Proprietors Trust (NZCPT). Together, these members work collaboratively to ensure the school is governed effectively and in the best interests of all learners.

As a State-Integrated School, one of the Board’s most important responsibilities is to protect and promote the Special Character of KingsGate School. This includes upholding the Christian values, beliefs, and practices that underpin the school's life, while ensuring compliance with the school's Integration Agreement (Deed of Integration). The Board seeks to ensure that every decision contributes to a Christ-centred learning environment in which students are encouraged to know God, love others, serve their community, and fulfil their God-given potential.

Board members willingly give their time, skills, and expertise in service of our students, staff, and families. As community representatives, they carry significant responsibility and are often required to make complex decisions that balance the needs of many stakeholders. All School Board meetings will start at 6:00 pm unless otherwise specified. All School Board meetings will take place in Kauri Tahi K2 at KingsGate School. If any member of the public wishes to request speaking rights at any board meeting, the request must be made to the Presiding Member via email at least 7 days prior to the meeting.
