Draft Strategic Plan

At KingsGate School, we are committed to providing an excellent, Christ-centred education that helps every student grow academically, personally, and spiritually.

We invite our school community to review and provide feedback on our Draft Strategic Plan 2027–2028.

A strategic plan is an important document required by the Ministry of Education. It sets out a school's key priorities, goals and direction for improvement. It also provides a framework for guiding decisions, allocating resources, monitoring progress and ensuring accountability for student achievement and wellbeing.

Our proposed strategic plan identifies four key priorities for the next two years:

Excellence in Writing – Strengthening foundational writing skills and improving student achievement through high-quality teaching, consistent assessment and targeted support.
Foundational Numeracy – Building strong mathematical foundations to ensure students develop the essential knowledge, skills and confidence needed for future learning.
Christian Formation Through Excellent Teaching and Learning – Deepening the integration of our Christian Special Character throughout teaching and learning, helping students develop their faith, character and understanding of God's purpose for their lives.
Excellence and Opportunity in Secondary Education – Continuing to strengthen our High School, with a focus on academic achievement, curriculum opportunities and sustainable pathways through to Year 13.

These priorities reflect our commitment to strengthening the quality of education at KingsGate School while remaining faithful to our Christian identity and ensuring the long-term development of our school.
