Policy Statement
The KingsGate School Board recognises its responsibility to provide a healthy and safe environment. This includes protection from those who are carrying, suspected of carrying, or at risk of a communicable disease.

Rationale
To ensure that KingsGate School meets its responsibilities of providing a safe physical environment for students, staff, and visitors.
To support the accessibility of immunisation to reduce the spread of disease.
To recognise that people with blood-borne viruses (HIV, hepatitis A, B and C) are healthy, able to work and study, need a supportive environment and are of negligible risk to others when the appropriate safety precautions are followed.
To ensure the disclosure of health status information complies with the principles of the Privacy Act 1993.
