Policy Statement
KingsGate School recognises its responsibility (under the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990) to provide a totally smoke-free environment for students/staff and all personnel at the school including visitors to the school. Under this Act, the school recognises that the health and well-being of staff, students and other users of the school may be negatively affected by smoking, and respects the right of employees to a smoke-free environment.
Guidelines
Smoking (including e-cigarettes and vaping devices) shall not be permitted anywhere within the buildings or grounds of KingsGate School at any time, nor at any official school activities such as field trips, sports events, etc.
Organisations or individuals using school facilities must agree in writing to comply with this policy as a condition of use.
Contractors and others working within the school property are to be advised of the school’s smoke-free policy and that the policy applies to them whilst on the property.
Signage will be displayed at every outer entrance to every building or enclosed area forming part of the premises.
