Year 11 2026
The Beginning of the Senior Journey
Year 11 marks the beginning of a student's senior school journey and is an exciting transition into a new stage of learning and responsibility. It is the year where students begin working towards nationally recognised qualifications while continuing to build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking. At KingsGate School, Year 11 is about developing the habits, resilience, and self-discipline that will support success throughout the senior years and beyond. Students are encouraged to take increasing ownership of their learning, discover their strengths, and explore the pathways and opportunities that align with their gifts and aspirations. Surrounded by a supportive Christian community, our students are challenged to pursue excellence, grow in their faith, and take their first steps toward the future God has prepared for them.
Year 12 2026
Preparing for the Future
Year 12 is an exciting stage in a student's learning journey as they begin to prepare for future study, training, employment, and service. At KingsGate School, we combine academic excellence with a Christ-centred approach to learning, helping students grow in knowledge, character, faith, and purpose.
Students can follow a range of pathways designed to suit their strengths, interests, and future goals. These include NCEA Level 2, the New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Skills (NZCFS), MIT Trades Academy programmes, Gateway workplace learning opportunities, and selected Te Kura courses. Whether students are pursuing university study, trades training, or employment pathways, our goal is to provide a supportive environment where every learner can flourish and confidently take their next steps. As a non-denominational Christian school, we ground all learning in a biblical worldview, encouraging students to see their studies, relationships, and future calling through the lens of faith. For detailed course information, subject descriptions, and pathway options, please refer to the Year 12 Course Handbook.
Year 13 2027
A Year of Legacy and Launch
Year 13 is the culmination of a student's journey through KingsGate School and a year filled with opportunity, responsibility, and purpose. As the senior leaders of our school community, Year 13 students are entrusted with setting the standard in character, service, and commitment, leaving a lasting legacy for those who follow. This is a year of refining strengths, pursuing excellence, and preparing for the next chapter of life, whether that be tertiary study, apprenticeships, employment, ministry, or other pathways. Throughout the year, students are encouraged to reflect on all they have learned, deepen their faith, and step confidently into the unique calling God has placed on their lives. Supported by a Christ-centred community, Year 13 is not simply the end of a school journey—it is the launchpad from which students step into adulthood, equipped to know, love, and serve God in whatever future He has prepared for them.
