Learning Together Through Te Kura

How Te Kura is Delivered at KingsGate.
At KingsGate School, Te Kura is much more than online learning. While students are enrolled with Te Kura and access learning through the My Te Kura platform, they are also supported every step of the way by KingsGate teachers. Depending on the programme, students will either learn alongside a KingsGate E-Teacher or an E-Tutor during their timetabled lessons.

An E-Teacher delivers the course in class, teaching the Te Kura programme through a Christian worldview while expanding on the learning, answering questions, differentiating lessons to meet individual needs, and ensuring students are well prepared for NCEA assessments and examinations. The E-Teacher works closely with the Te Kura Kaiako (teacher) to support student achievement and maintain high academic standards.

An E-Tutor provides guidance and supervision during class, helping students stay on track with their learning, understand their coursework, meet assessment deadlines, and access support when needed. The E-Tutor encourages students to develop independence while ensuring they remain connected to the wider KingsGate learning community.

This partnership between Te Kura and KingsGate School combines the flexibility of personalised online learning with the care, encouragement, Christian discipleship, and face-to-face support that are central to a KingsGate education. Our goal is to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive academically, spiritually, and personally through a pathway that best meets their individual learning needs.
