At KingsGate School, we recognise that God does not call every student along the same path. Some students thrive in traditional classroom settings, while others benefit from a more personalised learning journey. Through our partnership with Te Kura, students can access learning programmes that reflect their individual strengths, interests, goals, and circumstances while continuing to grow as part of the KingsGate community.

Te Kura's flexible approach encourages students to take ownership of their learning, develop independence, and pursue subjects and pathways that align with their future aspirations. As students explore areas of interest, set personal goals, and make decisions about their learning, they develop important qualities such as responsibility, perseverance, self-management, and resilience. These are valuable attributes not only for academic success but also for life beyond school.

At KingsGate, we believe education is about helping students discover who God has created them to be. Te Kura provides another avenue through which students can explore their gifts, passions, and future opportunities while remaining supported by a Christ-centred community. By combining personalised learning with purposeful guidance, students are encouraged to see their education as part of God's wider calling on their lives and to consider how their unique abilities can be used to serve others and honour Him.

The Houhere has long been valued for the usefulness of its bark and fibres. Traditionally, these materials were woven and used in practical ways to benefit others. This reflects the heart of mission, vocation, and service. The Houhere reminds us that every student's pathway may look different, but each person has gifts and talents that can be used for God's purposes and for the good of others.
