MIT Trades Academy as Part of the NCEA Journey

Building Qualifications Through Real-World Learning
MIT Trades Academy is designed to complement a student's NCEA programme, not replace it. Students remain fully enrolled at KingsGate while attending MIT one day each week, where they participate in industry-focused learning and gain valuable unit standards that contribute towards NCEA Level 2 and Level 3. These credits can also support Vocational Pathways and future training opportunities.

The programme allows students to apply their learning in authentic vocational settings while experiencing tertiary education before leaving school. Through industry-standard facilities, specialist tutors, and practical learning experiences, students gain valuable skills, confidence, and a clearer understanding of potential career pathways.
