Welcome: Parents and caregivers, welcome to our online Home Learning community and welcome to the world of homeschooling! The first thing that you need to know is that you’re not alone on this journey and your teachers are here to help as well. Although you can’t see them right now your child’s teacher is busy at work behind the scenes sourcing worksheets, finding websites and looking at and discovering alternative ways for your child to learn, some of which they will introduce over the coming weeks.
Can I contact my child’s teacher? Right now, your child’s teacher will be working from home and yes, you can contact them if you need to about school and learning related topics. In all circumstances please email them first. All the teachers' email addresses can be found on the contact page of this website.
Will my teacher be in contact with me and my family if the school is shut? Yes, your child’s teacher will still be contacting all the families in their class to check on their well-being and to help with any educational guidance that you or your child may need in relation to the Home Learning content. It’s important for you to know that your child's teacher is there to help and you’re not on your own.
When can I contact my child’s teacher? Your child’s teacher won’t be available 24 hours a day so emailing them during normal school hours would be the best approach to ensure you receive a reply to your question. If they don’t get back to you straight away, give them some time to respond as they could be reading or viewing resources for the online Home Learning community.
What happens if my child’s teacher has Covid 19 or is looking after someone who has it? Our action plan dictates that at this stage there will be no expectation that they will be working and adding content to the Home Learning Community. It is likely there will community transmission of the virus so the priority of all staff will be their health. If they are able to keep in contact with their classroom community then they are encouraged to do so but it’s important that you don’t expect a reply at this time and if this occurs.
