We appreciate that sometimes it can be challenging to know what schools want you to focus on in your application. To ensure that you have the best chance of winning an advertised position, we want to offer you as much insight into the process as possible. We trust the sections below help you construct a robust application.
What We Look at First
When you apply for a teaching position at KingsGate, the very first thing we will look at will be your online application. We check the following.
What We Look at Next -Your Covering Letter
Your covering letter is crucial because it tells us if you have taken the time to find out a little about who we are as a school, how your skills and experience would align with our vision and mission, and how you would be an asset to our school and our community. You would be surprised at how easy it is to identify an applicant that has submitted a generic covering letter that they have sent out to multiple schools. So, to avoid your covering letter falling into this category, we ask that you pay attention to the following.
What We Look at Last - Your Curriculum Vitae
If your application has been fully completed and your covering letter conveys your genuine interest in the position and our school, then we will make time to read your Curriculum Vitae thoroughly. Remember, it does become evident to an appointments committee if an applicant has sent out a generic CV. Keep in mind that we are a Christian School, so your CV should embrace your Christianity too. To ensure we get to see the best of you, your CV should include the following where applicable.
We hope this helps shape your application with us we look forward to welcoming you as part of our team in the near future.
All the best with your application and may God continue to bless you in all your endeavors.
From the staff at KingsGate School.
